Using ICT in English Teaching

These are the review of the videos. Skype is one of the way to use ICT in the classroom. This video share about what should teachers do when they ask the students to learn use skype with people in another country. For example, the negotiation between Lisbeth 5th grade English teacher from Denmark and Jannet 5th grade teacher from UK. There are some important points that the teacher should consider. They are :

1.      To know a country better, we have to seek for information about some main aspects about the country. It may consist of ten different categories which each group-one category.

2.      What might our pupils be interested in learning other country culture.

3.      Research about their own country using ICT.

4.      Write down questions on about their categories to make to the other class pupils. Give chance to each student ask 2 questions so that each group are going to ask 6 questions per group.

5.      It’s time to skype.

6.      Group presentation using video

7.      Class discussion with teacher as a moderator

Following each video presentation there will be discussion between two countries. They will talk about :

a.       What they learn

b.      What they like/ don’t like

c.       What they like to change

We should try to implement this to on our teaching language process because I think that using skype will help the students to learn other countries’ culture, language, and so on, for example English. We could use skype to implement it into teaching English so that our students could be linked to the native speaker in America / British.
